CHICORY AND GLUTEN INTOLERANCE

Chicorée Leroux products are naturally gluten-free. However, it is essential to be diagnosed if an allergy or intolerance is suspected. You don’t want to be deprived of these products for life, without good reason.

What is gluten intolerance?

For some people, eating foods containing gluten attacks the villi in the intestinal wall, causing pain, fatigue and weight loss. These people need to adopt a suitable diet to avoid these intestinal problems.

Gluten makes up 80% of the protein in wheat. It is also found in a number of cereals such as rye and barley. As chicory comes from a root, it contains none of these proteins. This root is then processed by Leroux to produce Ground Chicory, Granulated Chicory, Soluble Chicory and Liquid Chicory. The products in the Leroux range are naturally gluten-free.
