Natural benefits for everyday life
Chicory has a little-known characteristic: you can eat it anytime!
Naturally caffeine-free and of plant origin, it provides nothing but good things: fiber, low calories and, to top it all off, good hydration! It can therefore be consumed without moderation throughout the day. It can be adapted to your needs and desires: as a hot drink, in cooking or for all its other possible applications.
Products with no added sugar
Like fruit, chicory naturally contains sugars. In no way do we add sugar in the manufacture of this chicory.
It naturally contains fructose (the majority), glucose and sucrose. This natural sugar content makes it suitable for diabetics, although you should always ask your doctor or dietician for advice on whether chicory can be incorporated into your diet.
Plant-based products
Some of you may not know it, but Leroux chicory is made from a herbaceous plant in the Asteraceae family.
This family also includes cultivated varieties such as lettuce, artichokes and sunflowers, as well as wild plants like daisies and dandelions!
100% plant-based, it is produced in our beautiful region of Hauts-de-France.
The variety used by Chicorée Leroux is Cichorium intybus variety sativum. What could be better than a plant to care for your body and provide it with all the necessary benefits?
TRY THE HEALTHY ALTERNATIVE TO HOT DRINKS
Plenty of folks are trying to reduce their coffee intake, for health or environmental reasons. Chicory is considered as an ideal alternative to coffee thanks to its many benefits. The slightly sweet rich gourmet taste will also appeal to strong coffee lovers. Chicory undertones and hues are similar to coffee, but without the caffeine! What more could you ask for?
Chicory is suitable for both young and old! Just what you need for time with friends and family…
As soon as you wake up
To maintain a balanced diet, it’s important to eat well in the morning. Whether it’s dietetic, complete or hearty, everyone has their own vision of the ideal breakfast.
But when it comes to following the experts’ recommendations, it’s important that it’s balanced. A healthy, balanced breakfast includes a cereal product, a piece of fruit, a dairy product and a drink, such as chicory.
Some examples of balanced breakfasts:
Breakfast can be made up of a variety of cereal products, fruit juice/fresh fruit/cooked fruit, a sweet or savoury dairy product, accompanied by a hot or cold drink, etc. Chicory fits in perfectly with breakfast, as it can be prepared hot or cold, with water, milk or a vegetable drink. Plain, cocoa, caramel, vanilla and hazelnut flavours are available for a wide variety of tastes.
For a delicious, healthy snack!
And yes, chicory can even be enjoyed as a snack! As a simple beverage, but also in delicious and healthy recipes, chicory adapts to your preferences.
For a healthy snack, you can opt for fruit, for example, or a hot drink such as chicory, which has no added sugar! And with a little more time on your hands, you can even try your hand at cooking chicory. For example, we suggest our sweet and gourmet recipe for chicory shortbread…

Why is chicory part of a healthy diet?
Chicory is ideal for a healthy diet, as it can be prepared as a hot or cold drink, with milk or water, to keep the body hydrated. It’s ideal for people who don’t think about drinking enough water and prefer drinks with a sweet taste!
When prepared with water, chicory remains a low-energy drink and can therefore be drunk as an alternative. It therefore contributes to a balanced diet by helping to consume the recommended daily amount of water (at least 2 liters according to the EFSA and as much as you like according to the PNNS).
